Common Questions About Brazilian Jiu Jitsu
Do I need experience to start BJJ?+
No. Most of our students started with zero grappling experience. Our fundamentals classes are designed for complete beginners, and the coaches will guide you through every technique at your own pace.
What should I wear to my first BJJ class?+
Wear comfortable athletic clothing — shorts or joggers and a t-shirt work fine for no-gi. If you want to try gi classes, we can lend you one for your first session. No shoes needed on the mats.
Is BJJ safe for kids?+
Yes. BJJ is one of the safest martial arts for children because it focuses on control and technique rather than striking. Our kids program emphasizes discipline, respect, and body awareness alongside the techniques.
How often should I train BJJ?+
We recommend 2-3 classes per week for beginners to build a solid foundation. As you progress, many students train 4-5 times per week. Consistency matters more than intensity.
